Talamone
Talamone is a small country that lies close to the mountains dell'Uccellina, in the town of Orbetello to a pass from the Maremma. The country is quite well known not only for its beautiful beaches, but also for its rich history. The center is located on a low rocky promontory enclosing a small bay from which the name, not far from the port. In the past Talamone was an important trading port especially in the Etruscan period which worked by connecting with the hinterland maremmano. Its ruins can be found even in the hills crossed by the Via Aurelia, also testifies as a temple; this hill, however, is especially famous for the battle of Talamone. A settlement was also present in the area where the city stands now, because this is a cave with stone carvings, always going back to the same period. The coast of Talamone has many sandy beaches which are lined by pine forests and inland prevails mainly the Mediterranean. Thanks to its location on the coast, can dominate the sea to Monte Argentario. Talamone also lies on the border with the Natural Park of Maremma, making even the dell'Uccellina Regional Park. Talamone always connects you to the Aquarium of Laguna, a small aquarium formed by a dozen tanks around.
