Argentario

The Monte Argentario reaches out in the Tyrrhenian Sea just before the two southern islands
Beautiful Tuscan Archipelago: Giglio and Giannutri.
Born as an island, but later joined by the action of the ocean to land, the headland was probably already inhabited by the Etruscans and was followed in possession of the Church
Roman dominion of Spaniards who fortified the two existing ports and towns of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, to be owned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany and then finally annexed to the kingdom of Italy.
During World War II, Porto Santo Stefano was completely destroyed and was rebuilt only in the fifties. Today Porto Santo Stefano and its seafront are an enchanting corner of paradise, a tourism destination for the elite. From its port have reached the island of Giglio el'Isola Giannutri Islands of extraordinary beauty beloved by the more experienced divers and demanding with their bottoms rich marine flora and fauna.
Even Porto Ercole, with its port of Cala Galera, is sought after destination for VIPs who will sail their yachts. On the promenade of Porto Ercole, in the evening you can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing as well as the delicious dishes of fresh fish offered by typical restaurants with terraces overlooking the sea. The country is "dominated" by a characteristic Spanish fortress.
The coast of Monte Argentario, very jagged, offers coves and bays, rocky predominantly of considerable beauty from a naturalistic and where you can take a dip in the crystal. Strongly recommended a trip by car along the scenic road, which runs all around the promontory and offers a truly unique view.
